We're Wes & Alex, IDTA Fellows and Examiners, and we combine expert teaching with a warm, social atmosphere for adults and children. Whether you're a complete beginner, an experienced dancer, or preparing for competitions or IDTA Dance Awards, our classes offer patient, professional tuition and plenty of fun.
We also provide accredited teacher training for those pursuing professional qualifications.
Come on your own or with a partner - no partner, no problem - and there's no need to book, just turn up and join in the dancing.

"We joined the Thursday evening class in Wootton as complete beginners two and a half years ago. With our children heading off to university, we were looking for a new hobby we could enjoy together as a couple. We thought we’d give dancing a try for a few weeks – and we’ve never looked back.
What started as a simple experiment has become a real passion. We now attend classes on both Tuesdays and Thursdays and love taking part in workshops, practice nights and tea dances whenever we can. One of the highlights was travelling to Blackpool to support dancers from the school who were competing – it was an unforgettable weekend.
Wes, Alex and Rebecca are exceptional teachers. Their enthusiasm, encouragement and expertise have helped us grow in confidence while making every class enjoyable and welcoming. Along the way, we’ve also made many wonderful friends who we know will be friends for life.

Finding Confidence, Community and a New Passion
"I started with Wes and Alex’s Dance School in September 2022, nervous to go on my own, so I dragged my mum along — and ten minutes in, I couldn’t do it and wanted to leave. Wes spent so much time helping me feel comfortable, and forty‑five minutes later I found myself saying, “This is the best thing ever,” and I’ve never looked back.
I’ve had the pleasure of being taught by and dancing with Wes, Alex and Rebecca. Each of them has their own unique teaching style, but they all deeply care about their dancers. They focus on making sure everyone enjoys themselves while also learning correct technique, and they welcome any questions along the way.
I’ve gone from someone with no dance experience — starting in the beginners class with Rebecca and improvers plus with Wes — to moving up to intermediate, and now attending the advanced classes on Mondays and Wednesdays. I’ve danced in friendly competitions with Wes, taken part in a charity Strictly event, taken exams, completed workshops with Wes and Alex, and I’m now working towards qualifying for Medalist of the Year at Blackpool. I’ve gained so much confidence outside of dancing too, and I’ve become part of a real dancing family.
I can say with 100% certainty that dancing at Wes and Alex’s Dance School is something I will continue for as long as I am able. I can’t imagine not being part of this community.
